Need something to put a smile on your face?
One of Chicago’s most enjoyable musical duos, Beckie Menzie and Tom Michael, perform favorite songs and music from their CD “Better Two-gether” at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at Oak Park’s Village Players Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature a tribute to Simon and Garfunkel as well as classics by such composers as Richard Rodgers, Irving Berlin, Carole King and the Gershwins. Tickets are $25.
Besides inventive arrangements, beautifully played piano and rich vocals, Menzie and Michael always offer such an ebullient and friendly performance that it can’t help but lift your spirits.
For pre-concert dining, Gaetano’s, about 3/4 of a mile west of the theater in Forest Park, offers Italian fare worth smiling about, too.
